How to Support A Good Cause with One Football Game

Many high schools have community service hours as a requirement for graduation. So, getting involved in their community is already on many students’ minds. Instead of students going into the community, bring those special causes to your school. Organize a special football game to support that special cause.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

How Your School Can Give Back

Football Game Admit One Tickets

Donate a portion of football game admission proceeds.

Determine what percentage of ticket sales you want to donate to your chosen cause.

Keep track of ticket sales at the gate.

Calculate total when the gates close.

Write a check to your chosen special cause.

Pink Cotton Candy for Breast Cancer Awareness

Donate a portion of the sales of a special concession stand food item.

Choose one special food item to sell in your concession stand.

Keep track of the sales of that particular item.

When the game is over, tally up the total, and write a check to your special cause.

Example: Pink cotton candy sales for breast cancer awareness.

Choose one special product to sell during the game.

Keep track of the sales of that particular item.

When the game is over, tally up the total, and write a check to your special cause.

Allow free admission to a game with a donation to a local group.

Choose a local charitable organization.

Advertise “Free Admission” in your school and the community on banners, posters, and flyers.

(Be sure to include exact details of how receive free admission.)

Students and fans donate to the organization and get a receipt.

Anyone with a receipt of donation gets free admission at the gate!

Example: If you donate $20 to an autism awareness group, you get a receipt that gets you free admittance to the football game.
